Need to learn and find out my options.

I putting my 63 fastback 390 back together after a front end accident years ago, I went with a summit aluminum radiator, that fit fantastic except for a few new mounting brackets I had to fabricate, and some hose adjustments.
Well went to put the power steering pump back on and it hit the lower radiator hose for the new radiator. Oooops.
I have been driving it around the shop to move it without the PS.

Can I go to a newer pump that mounts higher up on the heads, like on a 68 with an FE? If I get the new style pump and brackets can I just re-plumb it to my 63 hoses and steering box?

I suppose I could try and raise the existing pump, but the newer style pump would be cleaner.

Any experience in this area out there.

Thanks as always.

How about a picture of the lower hose and radiator? Then I might be able to tell you what will fit.

I put a mid 90s mustang style pump ( used on a lot of Ford cars of that period) On my 63 just had to fab up the brackets some and adapt the high pressure hose to the new pump.
