a friend of mine has a 350 with an edelbrock torker II series cam with 292/300 advertised duration, the thing is his idle is not as rough as i thought it would be with that duration i thought the bigger the duration the more rough your idle will be, i dont know if im right, 292/300 advertised duration should be enough to give a rough idle, does lift play a role in idle roughness please help me out thanks a lot

Check out some of the older threads on cam discussions, I am sure you will get some answers from them. If I knew more about cams I would offer some advice.

If it's an old beat to death Ch*** and has tons of mileage the rough idle will some times go away once it has reached operating temp. I had an old beat to death 302 that had a good size cam in it and when it got hot the idle would straighten out but when it was cold it sounded nice.

Does it have a lot of blow by and is it the torquer II or the performer set up?
