Hi guys 'n Gals,

Last night I went to the local cruise night and spotted a 1963 Mercury Monterey 4-door for sale (my parents have a 1963 Mercury Monterey 2-door custom). Anyways, I was looking at the car and noticed it was not a breezeway (it had the roof of a breezeway without the power window). Was this a factory delete item? Also, the car had no trim on the bottom portion of the body. I immediately thought it was a 1963 Mercury 400 (a cheaper Canadian version), but the Monterey emblems were on the front fender. Any ideas?

Thanks,

It was base Monterey. The custom is above it ( has the lower side trim) Breezeway was probably an option on the base. In '64 The Canadian Meteor was the same just a solid back glass and breezeway was optional. 64 Meteors could even be had with no fender spear turn signals. The chrome spers on the front are super rare items. Stu
