I might be able to pick up a used 94-95 aftermarket aluminum radiator. Will it fit and work in my 79?

Well...probably not without a little custom bracket making. I did the opposite, I put a nice 87-93 radiator into my 1994. The stock brackets from the 94 did not fit very well, so I went and got a piece of aluminum from Home Depot and made some new ones. It was very easy. Same hoses should fit. The only other issue you may have is if the fan shroud will fit. I put the 1994 electric fan and shroud on the 87-93 radiator with little problem.

I think the bottom line is, if you can drill a few holes and make a new bracket if needed, if should be fine IF you are getting a sweet deal on a sweet radiator.

I have no problem with making new brackets.

As far as the fan, I am using a Taurus fan with the DCC fan controller. No clearance problems there. I'm just worried about any fitting problems. Thanks
