RE:Camshaft change and setting spring pressure

Hi all. I want to replace a camshaft in a 289. Now if I am to replace the camshaft and install new comp springs, will the camshaft card come with spring pressures and how the heck do you check spring pressure. Ok I have a 270 roller in the car and has all the fixins with beehive springs retainers etc. I am almost certain that if I was going to place the smaller 260hr roller in I would have to change something on the springs ? Or just put it in and the difference is so small there is no need  Have no idea what the difference is between the spring pressures ? Any thoughts.....Actually thought about a more usable hydraulic flat tappet The roller cams don't have as much selection ...

Thanks Greg

Re: Camshaft change and setting spring pressure

If the springs were set-up properly for the 270HR, then no spring setup changes are necessary for the 260HR. Slide your new cam in and drive happy. If you change to something other than the 260HR, then the spring setup would need quick scrutiny again to verify suitability.
