I am concerned if I have installed my one peice rear main seal correctly. There is a flat side and a grooved side on the seal. Which side faces the 'front of the engine'. Good Grief!

If it's a ONE piece rear mail seal, the solid part faces you as you smack it into the back of the block... The cupped side goes to face the engines innerds.... Rub a little grease around the lip of the seal before sliding it over the crank.
