Can a rear wheel stud be replaced with out removing the rear axle? Any tips and or tricks?

I did it on my '62. I can't remember if there was any trick to it. I don't think so.

Sal, since you have to remove the drum anyway, it only 4 more bolts to remove the axle. Remove the axle and press out the old one and press in the new one. Sure you can hammer the old one out and use a lugnut and spacer to pull in the new one but you can bend the flange and do damage to the rear end and bearing by hammering the old one out. Just a suggestion
