I just got the front end back together on my 73. I replaced the UCAs, LCAs, springs, spring perches, inner and outer tie rod ends, shocks, and the sway bar links. I tried to put the eccentric bolt on the LCAs back in the same place it was and then measured the distance between the drums on the front and the back edges to get toe in and out about right.

I put in back on the ground, and not suprisingly, it is not exactly right. I expected that. What I didn't expect was that the toe in/out and the positive/negetive camber would switch depending on if I was driving forward or backward. How is this possible?

When I stop the car after going forward I have toe out and negative camber. When I stop after backing up I have toe in and positive camber.

This is how it appears to me using the naked eye.

Is this normal and hopefully easy to remedy?

Re: Rebuilt front suspension on 1969 Coupe

My mistake, this is happening on my 69, not the 73. I know the setups are pretty similar, but I wanted to be clear.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.
