my falcon (64 Falcon Futura) has the stock leaf springs and on the rear right side i can see the bushing is 50% gone. the left rear one still has some life in it. Back Shocks are 4 months old
I found this place nearby that can Refurbish them and its actually pretty cheap. 65 dollars a set and includes the bushings. so it would be 130 for both

I want to do this because when 2 people sit in my backseat and i hit a bump the tires rub. Back tires size: P235/60R14

Question: Does it make a difference in handling? or should i just get airshocks for the back?

Name of the Place is Atlas.

Bushing condition plays a major role in handling. We are dealing with that on a car right now. Springs also affect handling and ride quality. Air shocks are not recommended for older Fords, as the shock mounts were not designed to carry any additional loads. Weakened or rusted shock top mounts have been known to let the air shocks break right through the floor, and it's not advisable to stress the top mounts even if they're good. Replacement springs with the custom height and rate you need are fairly inexpensive as already stated.

on this topic---the springs on my Ranchero are probably a bit 'sprung'.

Way back in the 60s a set of shackles were installed to lift the back.
I would like to put stock shackles back there and look for someone that can re-arch the rear springs.

Not certain replacements are available for the wagon, delivery, pickup and they do use different-longer springs.

Perhaps the same springs as a Comet???? anybody know???
