you may want to file the 'braded' portion of the screw before tyring to unscrew the screws. Otherwise you could strip the phillp's slot out of the screw.

Just get a sharp flat bladed screwdriver in between the choke plate and one half of the round bar that holds it, and twist it.. this will separate the bar enough to clear the dimples in the choke plate and the plate will pull straight out. then just squash the two halves of the bar back together and slide the bar out of the choke tower.. Well that's as clear as mud, but it's how i did mine so i hope it helps you out some.....

hummmmmmmm, things have changed over the years. I know all my older 3310's have screws in the choke plates.
