I am putting a rebuilt engine in a 60 t-bird and the boss tells me the owner of the car is going to gather some engine parts and a seal kit for the control valve because it leaks bad. I have never had a control valve a part. Whats involved on installing new seals? Should I just tell me to find e rebuilt valve and just replace it? Thats what I have always done on mustangs and cougars?

Get a new one if you can, they're pretty common. It's hard for a rebuilder to get one to seal properly -- they're ususally worn oversize, and not evenly. I think Eaton still makes them, try the T-Bird guys in HMN for one. If you can't find new, stick it out for a quality reman, not elchingchongcheapo. Ford listed them for years, but haven't built a car with one in a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnng time.

Also, be sure to get a new ball stud, they get neglected and wear a lot. Replace both with new parts, get a good alignment and it will feel almost new.

Good luck!
