Roller timing chain

On a 5000rpm and under big block, are double row "roller" type timing chains of any benefit? My existing set(pre 72 stock replacement) has about 5000 miles on it and it seems to have a lot of slack. I'm thinking maybe a double row chain will stay tighter longer and not get sloppy. Also, do double row chains last as long as a stock replacement? Longevity is more important than performance in this area, if you can believe that! Any tips or advice is, as always, appreciated.
