I purchased a 1965 Galaixe 500 convertible. Come to find out that the car will start in any gear. It is an automatic on the steering wheel. I need to know how and where to install a safety neutral switch? Thanks in advance!

The switch has probably been bypassed cuz it was/is worn out.

It's usually found near the bottom of the steering column top side, inside the car.

Look for wires in that area colored red w/blue stripe.

Likely your back-up lamps don't work as well, since the switch does that function also.

This is the neutral safety switch on a '67. Not sure if '65 is the same.
