I went through the title bonding process in NC when it first came out. I bought a 1962 Falcon from Georgia in late December and all the paper was good to go except they changed the law in January!

The DMV told me my car was the first one they had to do in the Elizabeth City area. It may have been the first one in the whole state. Anyway, it isn't that difficult but there are a few steps to it and it takes a while. I would recommend getting the process rolling since you are the owner. It will make it a lot easier to sell.

I had my temp plates on my car for several months waiting for the title and registration. It sold easy with a clean title.
People are often hesitant when the paper isn't right.

Thank you for the information I actually have started the process and hopefully I'll get the title soon. But I also think in the mean time while I wait I'll finish restoring her back to her glory days
