I am rebuilding a stock 289, and everything is perfect in the inside. The bores on all 8 are very good. I just want to switch to TRW forged pistons. Can i just get a balanced piston set, have the machine shop take my pistons off and put those on my old rods with out any other work done? I will be useing the same crank, it looks perfect, bearings are good too. I will be replacing all bearings, but i need to do a low cost build up, do i have to get any work done to the crank? I am going to put ARP bolts on the rods. Is TRW a good brand? any problems?
thanks

If you are putting ARP bolts on then you must resize them due to different bolts. Also most machine shops are fair. Local guy here offered $10 a rod to press the pistons off and on and resize the rods. For $80 it is cheap insurance
