I just finished bending up and installing my side pipes. I used the cheapo manual/hydraulic bender and this was my learning project. I learned, LOL(what not to do).

Hope you like the video. At the end I ran out of straight road at 100 or 110 or whatever it is down there so I had to slow down. The windows were down which messed up my audio a bit. It sounds a lot better than what is on the video.

In case anybody asks;
1979 F150 custom explorer I literally saved from the car crusher
.060 over 302 flat tops
just installed 3.25 gears
rebuilt the C4 thanks to Jay at BroaderPerformance
700 or so rpms over stock stall so its just a bit loose
ported E7 heads
ported 289 intake with a Motorcraft carb
(looks like I may need a new power valve from the vid)
268H .480 lift cam
Summit turbo mufflers
2.5" pipes
stock manifolds still, headers are next

Good job. I bought a 1979 F150 new with a 460 back in the day. That was a running son of a gun. Got 10 mpg no matter how you drove it. A drunk came across the road one night and hit me head on. That was the end of the truck.

I give you a ton of credit just for driving one of these old trucks that fast with one hand while taping this video.

I have my front end as tight as I've ever seen one of these trucks and I still am firmly white knuckling over 75mph.
