5.8 windsor is about 24" wide 28" tall and again, no idea how long

The 5.4 is a HUGE engine!
Little off on your guesstimate huh.

Thanks guys this is the info I was looking for and yes the 5.4 is hugh I am a bit suprised at the weight I would have thought the alum. block one would have be lighter then the small block but to weight as much as a fe is a real suprise.
I still think it would make a cool transfer in to my 64 fairlane. Sure would be a lot of wiring work throw. How do you guys think one would run power wise with a cam chang headers and computer chip I have only drove one and that was a 03 cobra so that not a fair comparson.

This article may help, though it is about swapping a 5.4 into a 96-up Mustang. I have to say, with all the parts from the 4.6 put onto a 5.4, the 5.4 is still capable of making 360 lbs-ft of torque. Now, and aftermarket intake manifold, better cam/ported heads, and a reprogramed 4.6 computer and you can easily make the same power as the 03 Cobra.

Unless you get the DOHC 5.4 from a Navigator a 5.8/351 will make more power, and fit much easier, not to mention be lighter. The 5.4 DOHC was rated at 360 hp. The 5.4 3-Valve is rated at 300hp. I believe all of the truck 5.4 motors have an iron block DOHC and SOHC.

This motor may not fit with out cutting your car up. Then you will have to break new ground in electronics.

What year 5.4DOHC in the Navi came with this 360hp...
Never seen more then 300.

Lightning in 99-01 had 360hp with a s/c and SOHC.

Did I say 360hp ahhh daaa I mean I ment to say 360 torque.
You have me there. The DOHC 5.4 was 300 horse 355 torque.

There is some sort of Australian car I was recently reading about that has a 5.4 with over 350hp. It must have warped my mind.

WOW. You have to do a progress thread on this one!

Do you plan on keeping the variable cam timing? If so, Thats gonna be fun!

I hope your not planning to. That will take one deep pocket.

The cluster is apart of the engine managment, The smart junction box is also VERY important to engine managment also.

I work where most of Fords IP's are built. I know a thing or two about them.
