Got a new crate motor in the car with about 15 k on it . replaced the clutch with a ford motrsports heavy duty clutch and a new adjustable clutch cable and quadrant kit also from ford racing. It worked just fine till about 2 weeks ago.This thing is slipping like crazy now. tried adjusting the cable, but am confused as to which way to adjust it. Do I adjust it so that the slack is taken up in the cable as in making the cable tighter? or do I go the other way with it so that some slack is created in the cable? I tried the latter and the pedal engaged about an inch off the floor but after about a day of driving, the pedal got higher and higher. I don't think the rear main seal went as i dont see any oil leaks and the motor is practically brand new. the slipping happens in the higher gears, usually going up a hill. I have tons of hills where i live. Anyone think the clutch or flywheel got damaged from the slipping?
