Its my first solid cam install and I am as green as it gets!!!

I have the motor stripped to the bottom end and cleaned everything... Tomorrow morning I'm going to install the cam, front cover, oil pan and heads / intake. Lots of lube, lots of lube!
My issue is around the springs... for break in I am taking out my old springs in my world JR heads and installing the comp cams 950-16 springs without the inner springs as recommended...
Once I have the cam broken in, whats the best way to add the inner srpings? Air or is there a specail tool to compress the spring and hold the valve?
