Sweet info Keg! I did the same damn thing with the used 4779 main body I bought off eBay... the threads were dirty and when I threaded the screw in it was snug, but I figured it was cleaning threads... well it was actually removing them! I lucked out in that I didn't go TOO deep so there's about 3/4 turn of a thread holding my front squirter on right now... maybe I'll try the repair method mentioned in that Hardcore50 thread next time I tear it apart.
I found a company, kind of rare, called 'recoil' they carry the 12-28. Im gonna swing by my local kragens tomorrow, se what I can find. If I cant find a 12-28 recoil or helicoil or something, I'll get the 12-24 and my drills out!
No luck finding 12-14 or 12-28. I ended up getting M6 - 1.0, and a few screws for that as well. Tomorrow I am gonna drill out the screws and see how things go.
I had a high flow squirter screw, so I drilled the new screws to look just like it. Now I have a squirter that is held in nicely, with room for fuel to flow. Next week I will be putting this carb on so we will see how it works.
