Guys what are you using for a starter and battery cable, I have the batt. in trunk with a #2 cable but have fried 2 starters. I was looking at the $219 starter from flatlander, but I'm wondering if I have enough cable. It's for a 514 10 to 1 comp.
I am guessing if you friend 2 starters that lack of current is not your problem, but that is a big more to throw around and the compression doesn't help
a good gear reduction starter should help, most draw less that stock starters
I did the same thing with an 11.5:1 514 and I fixed it by going to a tilton . Around $225 but well worth it. Nothing more embarassing than being in line to run and the freakin car won't start........
First 0ff there are two different ones. Mine is a high torque but not the real expensive peice. I bought mine locally at a dirt car shop . Try www.tcracecars.com. That was about 3 years ago.
