I just pulled the six out of my 68 and I'm building a 86 302 to replace it. I've already replaced the rear axle with a 8" unit and upgraded the front to disc brakes. I'm trying to collect everything I need so I can keep the process as painless as possible. I know I will need to get engine frame mounts, radiator, timing cover and replace the throttle linkage with a cable system. The car is a C4 auto column shift. I plan to replace the C4 with a rebuilt one but not sure if linkage/trans crossmember will need to change. Am I forgetting anything? Will mustang oil pan, motor mounts, etc work? Advice on where I can get throttle linkage?

the frame mounts are different they can come from fairlane torino montego.

LOKAR makes throttle cables that fit nearly anything you can create.

A '69 or '70 Mustang setup might work, I'm not sure what the Falcons and Torinos used in those years if you can find the stuff.

If you were going EFI you could use a Fox Mustang cable and a '70 Mustang throttle pedal...

for the throttle the 6cyl one is long and goes to the carb on the passenger side
you can shorten it and mount it for the v8.
or look in the junk yard for a v8 one.
