I decided I better weld in my subframes before I hook up my traction bars on my '64 merc. I fabbed some up and have the front attachment worked out but what about the rear? My rear subframe comes down to whee the front of the leaf attaches to it, then turns into half a frame with floor attached to one side (towards the outside body) but the inside edge still open. Can I still weld them to the 1/2 fram section or do I need to go through the floor and attach to where its still a full boxed frame?
Thanks
Tracy

I'm not that familiar with the car.....but my suggestion would be through the floor and attached to the full box of the frame. The more material you can attach to the stronger it will be.

I take it that it is a Comet right? Weld them to the frame rail in front of the leaf spring mount. The tubing can go under the floor pan towards the front. There is no need to go with "thru the floor" connectors unless you are packing some serious HP.
