Unless you build the tranny to handle the extra torque you'll be pissing in the wind.

T5 won't bolt to a 460...the bellhousing pattern is different.

But, you might be able to "engineer" a T5 onto a different bellhousing though. It'd take a little thought, some machining, and probably quite a bit of $$$.

C4 or C6 would be a better choice of course...but the overdrive is NICE in the T5. With a stock-ish 460, it should live a while. Not forever, but a while. Personally, I would forget a 460 and put a windsor in there, mod it a little and bolt the T5 up to it and go spank some rice. I love 460 engines, but man, they are SOOOO heavy!

humm, that is something to think about, i just cant beat the price of the 460, free. Well almost have to do a timing belt on a jeep to get it. Humm maybe ill start too projects, 460stang and a 351stang. thanks agine for all the help.

The C6 will be the strongest and most economical choice. T5 will be a big hassel and the don't take the torque unless you put big money into it and it will take some heavy effort to fit it. C4 would be a good choice in a drag car but again, expensive to build right and adapt, But adapters are avaliable.
