T5 speedo gear

Me again, just found out I have a green 8t gear. Problem is the 21 tooth cable gear is not enough. I had a white 24 tooth gear in the other trans, but I can't find it. Does anybody know if Ford or any aftermarket folks make a 24 tooth speedo gear?

You don't still have the other trans so you could pull the old one off?

No I bought a rebuild from Blue Oval Corral in Clearwater, swapping out the aod so no spare. Well I guess it's a good trans from a 90-93 or there abouts.

Try some of the Tranny rebuild shops and ask for the 7T tailshaft gear from 85 86 87 88 T5. If you're in the bone yard looking for T5s, look at the tag. You want one with number like 13-52-169 down to maybe 13-52-126. Some of those in that range could be 4 cyl and I don't know if they will fit a V8 tail shaft or not, but its worth a try. I just put a 169 tranny in place of a 199 an noticed that now my speedo matches my road speed. Used to be about 4 off to the high side. There is a file at this site that may help you:

Thanks...I got one from them before I found out that I could get one from Chrysler. By the time they added shipping (8 bucks) it was like 19 dollars. You can get it much cheaper at a Chrysler dealer for the same part.
