my 347 with out of box 1406 eddy and turn downs at rear axle stumbled badly so on the advice of another shop we changed to 70/47 rod and orange spring-this helped alot but noise in car was deafining so had exhaust shop put on 2.5 id tailpipes -NOW STUMBLE IS GONE and third gear pulls like LOCOMOTIVE-spanking a RICER with AWD and a reputed 414hp.the reason i am posting this is at our shop tech 'A" says carb got different/better signal and tech"B" says break in mileage played major role-please take a stab as I am super happy but stumpped none the less

I'm no carb guru but I would say that the extra back pressure from the tail pipes helped to richen up the mixture enough to fix your problem...When I uncorked my headers at the strip I developed a slight miss at high rpm and had to jet up a couple sizes to make it go away.Putting the exhaust back on would allow me to go back down in jetting without the misfire.
