Well, Hilborn made a fuel injection system in the early 60's that was on most of the turbocharged Indy cars...and they have been making fuel injection systems since they opened in 1948...I guess it's highly likely that a hrlborn stack system was used on some drag racers in the early 60's...I am pretty certain I have seen the familiar stack on other drag racers, but it's usually from the later 60's. Any drag history fans out there care to confirm or deny this?
Mike

I think the comment was directed at the non-mechanical injectors. I see what appear to be electronic fuel injectors on the stacks. At that time, I'm pretty sure hilborn was still selling mechanical batch injectors that were run off a mechanical, belt driven fuel pump, driven from the crank.

If you'll notice in the rear, under car shot, he has installed an axis type electric pump and filter. Back then I doubt if any electric pump could ahve feed an engine like that.

No dout, thats why he has all those original spares that will go with the car...so the buyer could take it back to museum-quaility restored, if he wanted.

I'm pretty sure it drives a heck of a lot better with the electronic injectors, easier to tune...
