DynoTom's friend has finally arrived. My name is Pat.
My fetish is White Lightning(the movie).
This is why I love 71 Ford Squads.
I currently own a 71 Galaxie 500 with a 429 CJ.( Never was a squad.)
I'm the 2nd owner.
Soon DynoTom and I are going to Fl. to pickup my next 71 Ford.
It's a 71 Custom 500.
Former Lyman SC. Sherrif's car. black on black. 429 CJ.

Gotta admit........White lightning was one of my favorite Burt Reynolds films.
Even tho all the different/same cars Burt drove during the movie went from automatic to 4 speed to columm to floor shift within seconds of themselves during the racing/tearing up **** scenes.......... isn't that the one with the famous quote....."Ask him why I call him Bones?" "Cus I tell him to"....

Hmmm looks cool. I sure didn't think they had CJ engines in the big cars.

Why are they selling it? I'd be suspicious it's not a trap... you don't have outstanding warrants do you?

Tom P, its a 71 Ford Custom P.I. car and in 71 the squads got the exact same engine as a Torino Cobras 429 Cobra-Jet would be.

The only difference would be the air cleaner sticker!

In 72 the Police cars used a different variation of the Cobra-Jet,the had smaller port heads and lower compression.

Gator has a nice collection of full size Ford and Mercury Police cars.

Here are the other ones he ownes.

1.1971 Galaxie 4-door 429 C.J. (never a squad)
2.1974 Mercury Monteray 460 P.I.(Arizona Highway Patrol)
3.1972 Ford Custom 429 P.I. (Wisconsin Highway Patrol)
4.1971 Ford Custom 429 C.J. (South Carolina Sheriffs car)

Welcome to the board Pat!

Sounds like a really cool collection of cars you have.

Where or how did you ever find a older police car like the one you are picking up in Florida?

When are you guys heading down there to get it?

D.T. and I will be heading down shortly, I hope. I am still waiting on some paper work

What a score!
I remember back in 1969 and 70, the local Highway Patrol Fords had factory installed hood pins. We serviced the cars at the service station I worked at. Both the Fords and the Plymouths had certified 140mph speedo's. It would have been tough to outrun one of these cars. They had some long legs!

Johnny Ray!

I dont think there is a bigger fan in the World of 71 Ford Police cars than Gator is?

I have known Gator for about 20 years now,and in all that time its been the only car he has always wanted to have.

I think I can convince him to take it to Woodward,he has to act soon in order to still get a park spot at the BSP though!

Gator, you gotta take that bad azz Police car up to Woodward!

There is only a very few park spots left,if you wait much longer they will all be gone!
