Search attempting to get a 1964. Thunderbird to start, We have all new points plugs condenser distributor in place.We have power going to the power side of the coil but we are not getting any power out of the coil . put a new coil Yet we still cannot get a spark from the coil period any suggestions?

the wire going to the distributer is connected to the points. they connect and dissconnect as the rotor turns. put a test light on the neg coil connection and crank the engine. does it blink? if not the wire is most likely grounded somewhere

Like @extech says - I made the mistake in the past of installing the condensor with the terminal end contacting the stator plate - oops no spark due to grounding out the coil lead
