Forgot to post my towing experiment. I had to drive northeast about an hour from my place with my trailer and pick up my son's car. He hit one of these in the middle of the highway;

His Miata actually weighs about what my mustang does. We loaded it up and drove home and my tranny did not get hot. I think my problem is finally solved.

Just to jog anybody's memory;
had the trans rebuilt with stiffer shifts, some stall, heavy duty rebuild kit
put an external cooler on it
3.25 rear end gears

I think the lower rear end gear did a lot of good. It had something like 2.75 or the highest gear you could put in the thing.

These oinkers are a menace down here where I live. Organized wild hog hunts are getting fairly common. The one my son hit weighed about 150 but check this out. That is a freakin furry rhinocerous and it was shot in Texas. From the looks of the vegetation it was east or northeast Texas too which is where I live. Can't eat these so they just pile them up and try and burn them.

There was a common story around the utility company I used to work at that a pole guy was run up a tree out in west Texas by ferral pigs. After who knows how long he was up there he tried to make a run for it and when he got down they ate him. Don't know if its true or not but considering the size of this pig I can see it. The boar's will also eat their own babies too. I've seen pigs fight over which one of em got to eat a snake. Guess they will eat anything they can catch.
