On the freeway, I've got a vibration in my aod. when I let go of the gas, it's not that bad, but still there. When I put it in N(on freeway), it's just about gone. It's a 62 comet/289/aod. My old aod didn't do it, just the rebuilt one I put in.

Any advice/clues to what this could be??? Thanks in advance

i bet your bell is touching the frame under acceleration. i had this problem on my c4 when i took it out and put it back in...it needed to be slightly moved or shimmed with washers. problem fixed.

Sounds like a drive shaft problem to me.

I'm going to check the bell for clearance. Had my driveshaft balanced with new usa made u-joints. Off course, they could not have done a perfect job.

Ok, so i was looking at it and the new rebuilt tranny I got came with the mount so I used it. I replaced it with the older C4 mount I had used on my old AOD and the vibration was next to gone!!!!! The new mount was a different design and was about 3/16" taller. Could this have changed the angle so much that it was vibrating to hell??

Anyways, problem solved for now.
