My car sat for 4 years, did not have this problem before then but does now.
1982 mustang, 351 windsor, c-6 trans, B&M z gate shifter.
Car seems to roll as if in neutral in all gears, I thought it was in N so I went to fire it up & it jumped forward so I shut right down, now it should ne in neutral, I lifted all tires off ground in case but when I start it the weels spin..

What's my problem here? What do I look for/into?

Take it OUT of gear man.

Of course I've never seen this with a C'6 but when my front wheel drive chrysler tranny took a schitt internally it would go forward in all gears and backwards in park.

sounds like the clip that holds main shaft in place broke, had this happen to me once. tranny has to come apart.
