Does anyone remember seeing a vidio here in the garage, of a huge trebuchet in a farmers field. They were catapulting cars about 4-500 yards with it. They were useing a tractor instead of a counterweight. It was about 3 years ago maybe.

My son and fellow classmates have to build one for a high school assignment. I,m sure seeing something like that would get them fairly enthusiastic in short order.

Damn, all I got was maths and english.

I have seen several shows on them. That show that used to put two teams together in a junk yard and make the thing out of parts did one. TLC did one a few yeasr ago when they actually taught stuff unlike today when most of their shows are home remodeling projects.

Later!

Saw that one on TV last week.
It is the first I remember seeing one on this site. There was a segment I say on TV a few years back, some old guy in England I believe had built one of these from wood and was launching VW's, bath tubs, basically any thing he could attach to the end of it and was launching them hundreds of yard across some remote fields. Must have been a pretty wicked war machine back in its day.
I read once they would load up diseased ridden animals and people not to mention vats of hot oil and boulders over castle walls when they put them into action. Guess that was some of the first germ warfare. Wicked minds them medieval (mid evil) folks had huh?
