I feel your pain. Go to the parts store and pick up a multi-tester out of the $3.99 parts bin. It is essential for this ****. I used a Chilton manual for basic testing procedures. Section 2 in my book had engine electrical and the break-down of testing was pretty simple to follow and ultimately let to my discovery of the problem. There's a whole list of "could-be's" but here's where I would start. Check for power to the module, the coil, and the dizzy. Then pull the dizzy wire plug and check for continuity between the orange and purple striped wires coming out of the dizzy. My car has electronic ignition and the stator assembly shot craps on me. Ford ignition modules also seems to spontaneously dump on themselves so test it as well. If your running points, somebody else can help way better than I can. A Chilton or Haynes manual would probably be a good thing to pick up if you don't have one already. Good luck.
