Alright, I'm going to have some things chromed on Sat., this is thurs. night. I have the trunk lock cylinder still attached to the chrome bezel and need to take the two off. I was able to take the studs out, and remove the locking arm held with the e-clip, but just behind that looks to be a tab holding the cylinder in place. I tried tapping it down, but no dice. Maybe it is too rusty? I have a new lock and plan on either re chroming the bezel or buying new, any advice??? I have a new cylinder like I said, but it's an hour from here right now. The car is a 64 Galaxie too, kinda important.

This is a really old post but I'm having the same issue! Can't get the pin to depress. Took me 5 mins or so to find the right combo to get the key to turn as the lock is warn out. Was thinking of just pulling pins til i get the new one. Leaving on a long weekend this weekend so order won't be here before i leave.
Tried tapping on pin etc. Maybe it's that i need to keep moving key a tiny bit at a time til that pin will push down?

No help needed now. Finally got the booger out of there! Hit the pin more than once but it still wouldn't budge. So sprayed it again with wd40 inside and out then heated it with a lighter and still no movement. Let it sit for 20 minutes or so while i did something else and then tackled it again and it moved at last! Don't know if it was that stuck or the barrel part was in or out too far or what but the main thing is i got it apart!
