hey guys what can you guys tell me about these pistons,part #L2249N I know they are a forged .030 over ford but what does the N at the end stand for?

Just part of the part number. They're .440"solid dome, .912" pin 1.600 compression height, Forged of course....and heavy as could be. 660 grams IIRC. They're good pistons. Heavy, but tough as nails! The actual part number is L-2249NF-30, IIRC. I've had a few sets of them in both 289s and 302s.

Lots of drag races have been won with those pistons.

Hey guys, I know this is an ancient thread but I desperately need to get hold of 1 x L2249N piston in order to save me blowing out $600 on a complete set of new pistons. Anyone got the remains of a set lying round or know anyone who has????

I know someone who may have some of those 2249's. Let me check. What do you need? .030"? .060"?

The "N" or "NF" in the TRW part numbers stands for "not flat," meaning that it is a domed piston.
