Not too much to report, the car is running nice. I finally found the leak into the trunk and sealed it up good and have also installed my radio so now with some decent tunes happening it's more enjoyable to drive.

I'm going to put my tach in this weekend, the same one I had in Granada #2 11 years ago (yes I kept it all this time).

I also checked the bolts yesterday on that drop bracket for the P/S cylinder and they did come loose, I tighten it up and will keep an eye on it this week. I'm going to get the bracket welded up this Fri. on my day off.

I will be getting some shocks for it next month and will be looking forward to better handling on the highway after the install.

Finally, I caved and picked up a RPM Air Gap intake (after much research, I've decided that an Air Gap would not hinder the performance of my stage 2 motor too much compared to the Victor Jr., if you all remember I picked up a used VJ back in March for $250 Can.). A friend I know at his engine shop did a favor for me and sold me the air gap brand new for a great price. I'm planning to install the intake with the 650 DP in about 2 weeks time. I will report on that when I do the install and when the stage 2 motor is built I'll get to test it with both intakes to see which one works better. I have a feeling that the air gap will work better low and mid range and not give up too much on the top end over the VJ so I may end up selling the VJ down the road, we'll see. As of right now I'm looking forward to seeing my stk. 351W with a brand new alum. air gap intake topped with a holley carb under the hood of "project sleeper".

It's a Granada and I think it's neat that another "alternative" Ford is being built instead of the ones you see all over every day. "Different" will get you noticed more and the pride he's got while building that Granada is commendable. I may not respond to the progress posts of his Granada but I do read them and follow along. Keep up the good work Cman! Aftermarket heads and better cam will wake that 351W up but don't forget the converter.

Hey 89 coupe thanks for clearing it up for me. I saw the post earlier while taking a break but was in the middle of doing my shocks on the granada.

fnracing, nice pic of your stang. We should hook up sometime since you're in Mississauga.

As mentioned earlier, I went ahead and did the shocks this aftn. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!!! The ones that came out were the original ones and were SHOT in a major way. I could push the pistons in and out on all of them with my hands. The ride afterwards was MUCH improved. No more excessive bouncing and the extra weight of the V8 up frt. didn't make the car feel too nose heavy (still have the original 6 cyl. springs, they were in good condition)

I had the PS drop brkt. welded to the frame this morning at my friend's shop so that problem is taken care of.

Unfortunately I had to spend last evening in the garage working on the radio wiring again. I had not driven the car in the evening since I installed the radio last week and when I went out last night to the corner store I had no dash lights. :O I got home and took the dash apart to double check the wiring and sure enough I made a booboo and grounded the radio to the instrument panel circuit (frying the fuse). I fixed the ground connection and popped a new fuse in and the lights came back, WHEW!!

While the dash was apart I decided to do the tach too (this was supposed to be this mornings project but I didn't feel like pulling the dash out again after I returned from my friend's shop getting the PS brkt. welded), now I got a working tach, good lighting with tunes and a better "ride" in my "ride".

So that will be it for a couple weeks until I get everything ready to do the intake install. I will be getting the cyl. heads for the stage 2 engine in a few months when I head down to the states on holidays and then part 2 of this project will commence. For now I'm just going to enjoy driving my "Project Sleeper".
