I just checked out his posts. Looks fairly legit. I couldn’t tell where he was located, maybe PA? If you were close enough to go and pick up the parts personally, I wouldn’t have much reservation. Buying sight-unseen is a risk, of course, and somewhat dependent on the payment method. No recourse for getting shafted on Instagram. He has enough activity, though, that if it’s a scam, it’s a dedicated one.

Is anyone here familiar with someone on Instagram by the name of jackson_terry_56 ? He has aloooot of supposed Galaxie parts posted on the gram. I reached out about some parts but it just doesn’t feel right. I’ve decided to not purchase said parts but was curious if anyone here k owns this person or has dealt with?

I was scammed by the account. Not sure how as the posts look legit, but send money via Venmo and got nothing and no response...Is anyone here familiar with someone on Instagram by the name of jackson_terry_56 ? I have a 63.5 and 64 parts car I was looking to trade for a decent 63 hood and a console trim piece. Immediate response back no flat trade. Ok I get it, gotta make some cash but never asked to see the cars-between the 2 of them there's more decent parts left to make more back than what a hood is worth. (maybe not if you have a long travel)
I asked where he was located but wouldnt tell me until i told him where i was. I have a guy who runs hot shot so i was going to have him pick it up during his travels. Guy tells me hes in CO after i tell him im in SC. Guy insists on shipping and lets make a deal now, was very adamant about making a deal now and wanting to get paid.
Back to the posts, you're going to tell me no trades but daily posting parts cars up parting out "small money". Some of the cars are way too nice to be parts cars. I went through the posts, alooot of them and tried to see some connection between pictures. Trucks, trailers, shops, people not one item lines up with another unless its of the same car. I went back to the beginning of their posts and found one comment that stated "this guy stole my pictures and put them on his site"

Man, it's weird to me the lengths people will go to try to earn a dishonest living. Why can't you just go get a real job? Seems like it would take less effort and fewer people would want to kill you.
Between Craigslist and IG, it's almost impossible to trust people. That's why these forums (with vetted members) are so valuable to me.
Escrow services. Guaranteed funding when you get your stuff, they get their money. Your or his bank probably has this service, but there are ones on the web that may be cheaper. Standard in cases like this if the $ amount is high enough to be worthwhile. I've been burned, so if it's big money and they don't like escrow, I move on.
Honestly, the more someone rushes a sale nowadays, the less likely I am to entertain them (in either direction), regardless of the payment method or amount of the transaction.
I just bought that '65 gas tank from a facebook seller...hopefully it's a go. I used Paypal, so I think I have some protection. Always a little scary going off grid. Most people are good though.
