A guy has this car for sale. 72 torino 429

Says he doesnt have a title but i can get one. The vin he gave me is F2a38h336539. From what i can find the 38 code is for a 2 dr sports hardtop. Shouldnt that code be a 35 for a fastback?

Not sure on the fastback part but the H in the vin would indicate a 2v 351, either Winsor or Cleveland variant and judging from the engine pic that sure isn't a Cleveland in there. I would have to pause and carefully consider what's going on here, take that vin info to the DMV and see what they say about the car.

+1 on torkair...

that 429 looks like it might be a factory install, and if so, would make that a rare car. the vin says 351-2V. I would look for other VIN's in the other locations. there should be a buck tag (I think) somewhere under the hood.

The motor is a easy fix. Im trying to figure out the difference between the 38 vin code (Fastback) and the 35 vin code (Sport Hardtop).
