I'm being told that I can use the master from a 66 galaxy 500 for my 66 Thunderbird, has anyone here done this? Any advice on the subject is appreciated.

I don't own a T-Bird but I do own a 66 Galaxie with power drum brakes.

The 66 Galaxie master is a single reservoir "jam jar" same as your T-Bird.

While the Galaxie master might swap to the T-Bird, what's the point?
It would not be an "upgrade".

In 67 Ford went to dual reservoir masters across the board.

I am using a 67 Galaxie power drum brake master in my 66.

It bolts in with the exception of modifying the hard lines.

Likely a 67 T-Bird dual reservoir master would work for you but you need to specify drum or disk brakes.
You will also have to modify the hard lines.
