Some of you may remember that I sold my '66 Galaxie project to my neighbor. I went with him on Sunday to pick up a parts car, a'66 7 Litre 4 speed car! Although the 7 Litre would be a great car to restore this one is beyond hope. The frame, trunk, quarters, and floor are gone. In fact, the rear axle is only attached at maybe two points. The car is complete right down to the hubcaps. So, the Q code 428, close ratio 4 speed, interior, and trim are all going to be swapped over to my old Galaxie. Can't wait to see it when he's done.
While picking up the "7" we got a look at some of the other cars this guy had. There was a '66 Galaxie convertible, '66 Merc 2 door with a 410, '63 Galaxie, and a couple Mustangs (these cars were all beyond repair). Restorable cars were a '63 Galaxie XL convertible, '65 T-bird, and a '63 Galaxie 2 door R code car (no engine). He also had a restored '67 Mustang fastback, 390, 4 speed. There were also some "other" cars, three SS 396 Chevelles, three '68-'69 Roadrunners, and a '70(?) Challenger. This guy also had sheds full of engines, tranys, and all sorts of misc parts.
Man, some guys find all the good stuff.
