66 fairlane, 289, C4.

With me in it, half a tank a gas, and my 25lb mountain bike in the trunk it wieghed 3220.

minus 165 lbs for me, 25 for the bike and 70-80 bs for ten gallons of fuel and you get close to 2960, thats not bad huh?

I have a question regarding drum brakes versus power discs.

I found a kit for both front and rear 11" and 9" discs. does anyone have a clue as to which might wiegh more? these kits use the stock spindles the front is a 4 piston setup.

which wieghs more, normally drums or disc?

Thanks for any info you have

OK, 10 gallons of gasoline weighs 62.5 lbs aty average 72 deg. room temp.

The mountain bike is WAAAAAAY too heavy... Who in this day and age has a 25 lb mountain bike? THat is soooo 15 years ago..

The brake setup for drum and or disc is almost moot and nearly compareable and most times the disc brakes will weigh more as a set-up than drum brakes due to thicker material and large calipers and bearings, everything weighs more on a disc brake setup but the pads...

Thanks for the info! I was thinking thats how it would turn out, I was hoping the added wieght wouldnt be toooo much.

My road bike is 15.5 pounds so that makes up for the mtn!

Cheers!
