Hi, I have a 1963 Fairlane 500 Sports Coupe that I put an early (1985) AOD trany in.
The problem is, it won't shift out of 1st gear.
There are two sets of wiring plug ins that come off the trany that I don't have any idea where they hook to, so they are not hooked
up.
Does anybody know where they go?
Do you think that might be why it doesn't shift?
One plug has a green, and black wire the other has white, purple, red, and black wire.

Wires to plug on side of my AOD were just for a neutral safety switch, for shifting you are running a TV cable, eh?
You can hurt an AOD if not running a TV or throttle cable, the cable shifts through the gears.
Either get a Ford factory TV cable or I used one from Lokar, worked great. You must get the TV cable set up right for correct shifting. All kinds of how to set TV cable on U-tube or just post question in index, this site
Don't drive far if not running a TV cable!
