I am looking at buying a 1970 F100, but I am afraid when I plan on selling it in a few months that I wont break even. I am living in Idaho for college now and a found this truck for sale and I really would like to buy it, but the price of the truck and title and plates and insurance will add up. I would like to know what the value of this truck would be.
It has a rebuilt 390 bored out 60, and a four on the floor. It has a brand new exhaust and rebuilt carb. I am planing on leaving the paint because it is still original, and just putting the emblems and little things back on. I am also planing on putting the interior back together. If i were to clean it up and put it back together, what would it be worth?

If it was in my area.. $1200-1500 i'd have the cash tomrrow, $2000 I'd think about it. You could probably get as much as $3500 if it is as nice as it looks, but you would have to wait for the right person(months of advertising:()

Firehorse5 is on CRACK.... :D :D Are you SERIOUS????? MAX of 1200 and that's only if the motor has less than 10K on it....

Seriously, do you low ball everything? Or are cars really that cheap where you live?

I sold a 72 Ford truck, in similar shape, for 3 grand in 1995 or 1996. The only thing it had less than 10k miles on were the tires & new king pins in the I beams.

I don't think $1500 - $2000 is out of line at all.

I didn't mean crack LITERALLY.... Does ANYONE remember Black Betty my Burn out truck? $600 BUCKS!

Anyone see my 69 Ranger F-250 390 auto Black Betty II in my driveway a turn key driver in impossibly excellent condition for $400 bucks?

Maybe you all remember my 71 F-100 that cost me $440 bucks and CAME WITH A FREE BOAT and trailer that I sold for $600 and therefore made the truck free plus put several hundred in my pocket about 3 years ago...

Then there was the other F100 I traded for that 68 Fairlane C code....

I reckon NOBODY should listen to me because I don't know what I'm talking about.

CASH talks, $2500 for a good running Ford Pickup from '67 to '76 is just a silly price to pay.

But if you got it then awe schitt, spend it.

FE , those truck would have got you a lot more cash here . Location of the sale sets the price .

The rust belt buyers have a travel cost , so if that truck was local to the R/B it will bring a higher price than an area with one parked on every corner

It all depends on where you live..If your in a rust belt like where I live any old vehicle that is in good shape(not rusty) will bring a good buck..I can only drool over the prices that FE pays for stuff....Clean that truck up and throw a decent paint job on it and it would fetch $4500 or more in my neck of the woods..

In my neck of the woods (westen wash) You can hardly sell the damn things for more than a grand or two in anything but mint cond.

I was you I would not go over 650 MAX if you want to break even... Not sure what the market is over in idaho, but look around on craigslist, find the cheapest trucks in that kind of shape, and take off about 25% and that is usually what they go for.

You always risk skin in this game... lol it's part of the fun man!

are u sure that engine really was rebuilt? if it was it was a loooong time ago. it looks as greasy as my 289 and it has never been rebult in its 40 some years.

i sold a f250 2wd long bed 360ci auto fair shape (aka big red) for $1200 in 2004 and it had a blown head gasket. but this is missouri. every un-restored fair conditioned classic-ish sells for 1-2000 bucks here. lol

whats the price youre buying it for again?
i wouldnt spend over $900 with it in peices
once put back together and cleaned up a bit ide sayyyyyyy $1800 obo maybe $2000 if u sold it.
