I am gonna get my rear end worked on in a few months, and I wanna know what I should go with. I was thinking about maybe a detroit locker with 4.11 gears or keep my current 3.73 gears. What are the major drawbacks of the detroit locker? I know they are noisy and loud, but that is not really a concern.

I have been using Ford Trac-locks since I first found out about posi rear ends, I prefere them, they are quiet and hook just as good as a locker when set up right and taken care of. Generally you can pick them up new for a few bucks less than a locker.

lol Noisy bothers me, but LOUD does not.

Are the lockers noisy only on turns, or is it all the time?

Lockers are awesome!
They don't make noise in a straight line. Only when you turn. More specifically, when you accellerate out of the turn you get a clunk when the locker engages. My car is loud enough that I can't even hear it, but I can feel it. I think that most cars with performance exhaust systems you won't hear the locker. Only on a very quiet car.
