i have a 88 mustang gt, i just recently broke my third t 5 and i have a donor c4 that i want to put in. what steps do i need to take and what modifications do i need to do in order to do the swap?

The motor should just bolt up so I'm thinking you'll need a cross member and shifter and you're good. Any good aftermarket floor shifter is going to be cable operated so that isn't a big deal either.

Depends on what the C4 came out of. It may bolt right in. Or you may need to make major parts changes to get it to work. Or something in between.

Since you pounded your T-5 you are going to want a C-4 with a 26 spline input shaft. You will need a flex plate that matches the number of teeth that was on your flywheel. Probably a 157 tooth plate. Unless you put in a manual valve body you will need kick down linkage. The cross body member can be reused wit modification. The mount on the C-4 locates a couple of inches forward of where the T-5punts. The drive shaft will work as is. Good luck.

KD linkage is not required an a C4 but nice to have.
