Whats a good choice for heads for my 65 Mustang coupe 289 motor, 30 over, performer rpm intake, 575 speed demon carb, hydraulic cam 230 duration at .050, .510 lift, 108 lobe seperation, tri-y headers with 2 1/2" exhaust with flowmaster muffs, I hear either PBM or Procomp heads are the best bang for the buck

Edlebrock RPM's, AFR 165's, Ford GT-40's or pretty much any thing in that size range will work nice on a street 289. You may want to consider a little bit bigger carb when you do the upgrade, something 650-670 cfm or so.

PBM IS Pro Comp if you mean the Strike Force heads. Also, if you get some for a street 289, get no larger than the 195cc versions. All of the heads listed by dfree383 will work great =). For a carb I'd recommend even larger though, more in the 750 range. An out of the box 750 Edelbrock 1407 worked wonderfully on my 10.5:1 289 with ported windsor heads and a similar lift cam. I ran an old school Shelby dual plane intake...slightly bigger than a performer rpm.

Good luck!

Cris

PS
That carb is a great street carb that works well at the track too. You give up a tiny bit of horsepower, but the driveability and off throttle power compared to any style holley is WAY up there.
