Any of you guys running large wheels (17" or 18") and 40-50 Series tires? Tire and rim sizes, back-spacing, and photos?
I'm running 225/70R15 fronts and 275/60R15 rears. Radial T/As. They are decent tires for what they are. Fine for cruising and OK in a straight line.
I know the smaller overall diameter and stiffer sidewalls will both "improve" the handling, but wondering how far you can go without having to cut any metal.
I'm coming from a Miata and a Boxster back to a big, heavy, '70s Ford. I know the handling will never be stellar, but I know it can be improved.
I guess lowering the car an inch or so with the springs and increasing the spring rate will also help.
What have been your experiences?
