OK guys, here's my set up:

94 Mustang GT-5 speed
347
9.3 compression
TFS track heat heads and intake
XE274HR 224/232 .555/.565 112
1.6 Rockers
70mm TB, 75mm mass air, 30lb injectors
1 13/4 long tubes
2 1/2 mandrel w/ flowmasters
3:73's

Car has 70/30's up front, 50/50's in back, no swat bar line lock for good burn outs and Hoosier QTP's 9.5x26.

Car made 355 rwhp and 386rwtq.

I can cut consistant 1.70-75 60's but have hit a few 1.65's
Best time so far is 12.60 @ 110.9
Bets mile an hour was on a cooler day at 113mph
This is a street car and is not gutted, but it should have a much better ET. ( At least I think)

Where do you think the ET is?? I cross the traps in 4th but only at like 4500ish I think.
The only thing I can think of is more gear, like 4:30's and maybe skinnies up front...although I have pulled the 17'' cobra r's up 2-3inches last time I was out at the track!

Any thoughts or points woudl be great!!

Thanks Chris

Man w/ that mph you have 11 sec speed for sure. I know one member who turned high 11 sec at 111mph w/ his 347 in 66 Coupe body.

Agreed. You have high 11 potential and think you should be there with those 60's.

Is it me? 4500rpm in 4th doesn't sound right with 3.73 gears.

Do not think it is high 11's with 3400-3600 lbs is possible. Full interior street cars are heavy. With that HP and MPH I think lower 12's like 12.2 is reasonable, especially shifting gears.

you didnt say what your shift point for best et was, but for me at the track, i would want 4.30's in the back, thru the traps a little over 6000 rpm. if there are traction problems, slightly taller tire (27-28 in) with higher number gears to stay in the same finish rom area. with your mph i would expect 11.80-12.30s depending on efficiency of chassis/drivetrain setup. jmho

Just used the calculator and 110.9 mph with 3.73s and 26 in tires comes out to 5346 rpm...This is still a little low for optimum ETs but quite a bit higher than what you claim...Is it possible you don't have 3.73s or is your tach out of whack?

How many RPMs do you loose between shifts? You have to keep it in the power band to get it to pull right. otherwise each shift you have to make up for the loose of power.

I think it's a combination of gears and shifting. It's tough to make fast shifts at high rpm with a t5, that's been my problem all along...to the point that I'm going to a dog ring setup for next season. A set of 4.30's would easily get you into very low 12's even with the slow shifting.

You can't just go by 60' times. Hell, I run low 1.7 60' times and best of 1.67 and have a high 12 second car.

Man, you hittin the brake at the top end or what?

There is something to be said for out of whack times, but man those 60's belong to a mid 11 second car.

That's what I wanna know, man! Something is mismatched with your combo. Too much gear, too much stall, slipping tranny, something.....

You sure you aren't on the brake? lol....

Hey guys, thanks for all the responses. In the 1/8th, My car was at 8.107 @ 86.89mph. Ya, On my tweecer RT it shows my tach is out 400rpm on the guage, I shift at about 6200-6400 on the tach, which is more like 5800-6200 on the motor. On the dyno, it peaked out right around 6100. So i guess I should shift higher. ?? If I did swap to 4.11's or 4.30's how much more rpm will i see just driving on the highway...remember...street car....

I was gonna put a procharger on it this winter, but I kinda want to make more passes N/A to see how much more I can get out of it.
