I was also wondering what happened to Kent??? Have not seen him on here in a while... Hopefully Kent can still make it to Woodward????

Thanks guys for missing me but I am busy not only doing the paperwork on selling my house but also putting the Pinto together(which I just got running tonight) and all the inspections and moving involved. I got a NEW windshield for my 68 Falcon wagon and will have it installed tomorrow so I can see out of it during sunrise and sunset (sand pitted). Got all vehicles tagged so NY State can't him haw about not being able to register them there if they weren't registered here. Also I think my wife found a house up there that we want to buy and we'll try to pre-qualify tomorrow even though the sale is still pending on this house here. This house is sold making a 21,000 profit so we should pretty much be out of debt when this is over with and the house she found in NY is 2,100 sq/ft with a 2 car attached garage and a fully finished/heated/insulated 32'x40' 6 car shop in the back with security system which is why we both want this house soo bad and in one of the best and most expensive places around Rochester so the school system should be pretty good too. I was up there for a week during the 4th of July and I never felt so strongly about a place being perfect for me like I did there. Definitely a car nut area. Dark blue skies like I never seen before and in the lower 70s the whole time I was there. Clear lakes and lots of boats. $200-$500 nice late model winter beaters abound everywhere and 2 people said I could have the cars if I hauled them off(one 95 Escort wagon and a 90 Bronco 4wd). I will be there by mid August and if soon enough, I will make Woodward since my wife and kids will be in Europe at that time and I am currently unemployed as of June 2nd(to work on the house to sell) until we get settled in up there in NY. Liberals, suck my black exhaust and sniff my blow-by cause here I come!

BTW, the Pinto really sounds great and will try to race it Wed if I can get some used 28/10.5 or 28/9 slicks by then. Ordering them from Scummit 2nd day air will only get them here Wed evening or Thur morning and that won't do. 395W with 1 point higher compression, 35 more cubes, 4 degrees less duration at .050", more stall, and a full roller 4500 stall c-4 combo compared to my last 351W should make it run pretty good. I'll have pics later.....

Glad to hear your going to make it to Woodward...

Yeah, moving sure takes up alot of your time... Glad to hear you got the Pinto running.... Let us know how it does at the track....

Good Luck getting the house you want, and Good Luck with your move to NY...

Pinto DEFINITELY goes but got to the track to find out the owner never came to open up so it was closed. He use to do that in the past before the track was shut down and it seems he's going back to opening when he feels like it and not when scheduled. NM sucks! Have to wait till Friday and Saturday now. Loooong day.......

Reading about that Pinto makes me miss the one I had!!

1974 Pinto 2.0L

The engine was heavily modified-Esslinger DOHC head, Weber 32mm Sidedrafts and a number of other mods. The engine made 230HP, 300lb-ft at the flywheel, and that little car would eat some of the hotter street cars I came up against.

Here are a few pics which were small enough to download on fordmuscle's pic storage. most of mine are between 50.1-57.5kb so it wouldn't let me download them. This site should allow up to 60kb imho. I decided to change the valve covers to the black Ford Racing for more stud guirdle clearance and better sealing. Bought new 28x10.5 slicks in town and paid $20 more each just to have them for Wed night racing and it was cancelled I found out due to not enough spectators and racers showing up so it's now cancelled for Wed nights. Fri and Sat nights are now open from 6PM till Midnight so thats good for a bunch of time only passes while tuning. Looks like I will be moved out by the 12th of Aug so I will fly up bewteen the 13th and 15th and still might make Woodward in time but I'll have to take the Focus(uncomfortable and hurts my back) since my truck won't be up there yet for 5-7 days once movers pick it up.

Front wheels/tires are only temporary to get out on the track until I decide on different wheels/tires. The '68 Falcon wagon got the new tinted windshield and holy crap is it nice! Perfectly clear and better than the original windshields were. A hard windshield to find and they got my old one out without breaking it and it's good other than the moderate sand pitting and it's not tinted so I'm bringing the old windshield with me to NY. I may also have the '65 Fairlane 500 wagon windshield replaced before I move to NY since they did such a nice job on the Falcon and the Fairlane has the original non tinted heavily pitted windshield in it now that is very hard to see out of during sunset and sunrise.

3 1/2" exh with 3 1/2" H-pipe and 3 1/2" Hooker Aero Chamber mufflers.

Dang, I didn't expect any responses so soon between my posting pics. My Dominator is a 9375 1050 with #34 high speed, #63 intermediate, and #53 idle bleeds. This is as I got it from e-bay and it is waaaay too rich at idle and off idle. I have desperately been trying to find someone in town that has a bleed assortment that I can buy to clean the idle and off idle up but with no luck so far. This 5400' altitude doesn't help matters either since it needs to be leaner anyway compared to low altitudes so that makes my situation even worse. With 13-13.5:1 compression and smallish 256/266 at .050" on 108LSA and 108 ICL and 35 more cubes it should idle much smoother than my last 351W did with bigger cam and less compression. If I can find an air bleed assortment, I can get this thing to idle smooth at 1000RPM and purr. Right now it's a fender shaker at 1000RPMs but it will idle for 30 minutes without loading up as I have it set now(had to test cooling ability of radiator and electric fan). The converter is looser and much more drivable than my last one and hopefully will go 4500-5000RPM but I can't find out till it's at the track. My last one only went 4000RPMs. Got timing at 32* total and initial(locked out advance) yet starts easier than any other engine I ever had in there and that's a lot of engines

Hey coolfalcon, I will meet you sooner or later for I like to travel and will be around that area on my way to Joliet, Ill(have to check out my home town while growing up new drag strip). I left when I was 18 in '87 and was only able to race at Union Grove Wisconsin at that time so I have to check it out. Actually my home town was near Lockport (out in the country) which is near Joliet. Like I said, I might actually make Woodward this year but I kinda need to know where everybody will be soo I can find you guys on Woodward. The Battle Cruiser Galaxie should be easy to spot if Greg is parked near the street I guess.

I may try to race in Tulsa next weekend BUT it is unlikely I can make it there. Roswell is a possiblility though and that track is only at 3500' altitude. Sure is tempting to stick the blue bottle on it. I will take the 3.89 gears out and put the 4.56 gears in next week I think which should greatly help its off bottle performance. Damn this thing sounds and runs soo much different than before. Extreemely responsive yet easier to drive. Unfortunately it's louder too. Rick, it is much different than the last time you saw it running or went for a ride. We'll see what it does Friday. Why don't you come here next weekend?
